Dominic Guard is a British actor born on June 18, 1956, in London. He is notable for playing the role of the Messenger in Joseph Losey's film and in Picnic at Hanging Rock. Since the 2000s, he has left acting to become a psychotherapist. His most notable role was at the age of 14 in the film The Messenger. He won a BAFTA Award in 1972 for his performance. He appeared again in Peter Weir's Picnic at Hanging Rock in 1975. He is also well known for his guest appearance on Doctor Who in 1983 as Olvir. He also starred in Gandhi, and alongside Richard Burton and Billy Connolly in Absolution (1978). That same year, he lent his voice to Pippin in the animated film The Lord of the Rings. He continued his career into the 2000s. He is also the author of a children's book, Little Box of Mermaid Treasures. He is the father of two children with actress Sharon Duce and is the younger brother of actor Christopher Guard (born 1953).
