Winshluss is a French comic book artist and filmmaker born Vincent Paronnaud in La Rochelle in 1970. He published his first pages in the fanzine Les aventures de Miguel in 1995. He also collaborated with the magazine Ferraille, which he co-edited with his friend Cizo. In 2007, he and Marjane Satrapi received the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for Persepolis, which also won two César Awards the following year: Best First Film and Best Adapted Film. The film was also nominated for the 2008 Oscars in the Best Animated Film category. In 2008, he received the Fauve d'Or Award for Best Picture Book at the Angoulême Film Festival for Pinocchio; the book was later translated into English. In 2016, he received the 2016 Golden Nugget from the Youth Book and Press Fair for Dans la forêt sombre et mystérieuse, a comic book for young people which, unlike the majority of his works, has a happy ending, because his son likes stories that end well.
