Yves Caumon, born May 27, 1964, in Bussac-Forêt (Charente-Maritime), is a French director.
He developed his passion for cinema in Bordeaux and directed several Super 8 films. He studied at FEMIS (where he became director of the Directing Department in 2012 and 2013) and worked as an assistant to Agnès Varda and Jean-Paul Civeyrac.
He directed several short and medium-length films—including The Beauty of the World and The Girls of My Country (winner of the Jean-Vigo Prize in 2000)—and three feature films, two of which were presented at the Cannes Film Festival.
Yves Caumon lives and works in Gaillac, Tarn. He is part of the rising generation of contemporary auteur cinema (Jean-Paul Civeyrac, Philippe Ramos, Alain Raoust, Alain Guiraudie, Arnaud, and Jean-Marie Larrieu).
He starred in the films Neither Eve Nor Adam by Jean-Paul Civeyrac in 1996, The Days I Don't Exist by Jean-Charles Fitoussi in 2002, The Bridge of the Arts by Eugène Green in 2004, and Just Kids by Christophe Blanc in 2019.
Alongside his films, he leads workshops on screenwriting, directing, and acting.
